Building confidence through digital skills training

“I was really grateful for the service and always felt positive at the end of each session feeling accomplished”

Stephen Gibbs who is a resident of Curo had some experience in using computers and he used his local library to access the internet for general online browsing and sifting through emails.

He was referred to We Are Digital for training by his housing association Curo, and during the triage process, it was established that he would benefit from using his own and a more up to date digital device. He was provided with a tablet to support him during his sessions.

He was keen to learn and brush up on his digital skills.

“Quite excited, almost thought it was too good to be true when I was first called up about training, especially getting free equipment”.

Stephen received his training with the same trainer Bobby, and he reports that he supported him to feel more confident during his sessions.

“Bobby was absolutely brilliant, very patient and helpful with everything in all the sessions. Didn't make me feel intimidated with learning at all”.

Since receiving his training Stephen continues to apply the digital skills, for uses such as using My Curo to access information from his housing association, browsing the internet and doing more tasks online.
