 Funded by South East Local Enterprise Partnership (SELEP), we are here to support people whose jobs have been affected by Covid-19 and get them back to into work, by helping them gain the right digital skills they need. We are fully equipped to deliver our services across East Sussex, Medway, Kent, Essex, Southend-on-sea and Thurrock.

We are also open to Match Funding, which will give you the opportunity to contribute to the success of this project, by helping the employability sector in getting people back into work.

About We Are Digital

We Are Digital is one of the UK’s leading digital skills and inclusion training providers to councils, housing associations, charities, corporates, and central government. Our trainers have first-hand experience in training people of all skill levels, both in-person and remotely. One of our key skills is being able to provide help and support with digital skills to help people get back into work.

What can we offer within the SELEP regions...

We have developed a course to empower the most excluded in society with the key digital knowledge for life and for employment.

Our Digital Skills Training has been running and evolving for over 10 years, building confidence and capacity through hands-on and interactive learning, with expert trainers by the learner’s side every step of the way.

Covering the essential skills, the course is perfect for beginners and has been carefully paced through modules using activities with real-life applications and immediate impact. These modular sections also allow for personalisation and flexibility in delivery for groups and individuals that require tailored support.

Learning Outcomes:

This course provides a breadth of knowledge of the core applications of digital technology in everyday life. The crucial skills they gain over the program will help to lift learners out of digital, social and economic exclusion, as they gain capability, comfort and proficiency online and with digital tools.

The wraparound support from our expert trainers enables learners to move ahead safely and with increased confidence.

The course is also an excellent starting point for learners who would eventually like to progress to our other courses, giving them access to a pathway to further learning.

Eligibility to refer people:

Our work within the SELEP region covers all ages, however people should only be referred if they:

  • Are living in East Sussex, Essex, Kent, Medway, Southend and Thurrock
  • Age over 19
  • Had been affected by Covid – unemployed or made redundant
  • Someone on a zero-hours contract
  • Someone in work but in receipt of benefits
  • Someone in an entry-level job (for which no qualifications are required) wishing to move to a new role or new sector
  • Someone earning the minimum wage
  • Someone with no qualifications and with no higher than level 2 skills

By getting them to call us on 0114 551 2551 or get them to text SKILLS on 88440 and we’ll get back to them within 48 hours. Our highly experienced booking teams will determine the support level people will need, whether that’s for one-to-one or group sessions.

We are offering our Digital Skills Training for FREE:


  • 3 sessions
  • Sessions are 2 hours long
  • These sessions will be on a one to one basis
  • They will be remote
  • If needed, we’ll provide a device - Android LTE tablet
  • If needed we’ll provide internet access - Vodafone sims - 120Gb worth of data for 6 months
