Universal Credit: A high stakes proposition

In the world of benefits, few issues have caused as much controversy as the rollout of Universal Credit (UC). For claimants, housing associations and local authorities, concerns abound about how the new system will be implemented and what that may mean in terms of delayed or changed payments.

In theory, UC makes a lot of sense. A single payment that streamlines both the application and claims process saves all involved time and money. However, by implementing an online portal, basic questions are raised about how easy it will be for people to apply for and receive benefits.

In this article in Benefit magazine, Matthew Adam, CEO of We Are Digital, outlines how to guide residents through the labyrinth of UC to get them online ahead of the launch. Click here to read the full article.
